Ofsted Report – May 2016
Our recent Ofsted inspection awarded us a “good” rating. The inspectors were clearly impressed with our learning provision and the outcomes for our children. A very large proportion of parents and carers gave online feedback to inspectors and it was unanimously positive.
The report highlights how our ‘exceptional’ site has been ‘meticulously planned to provide an extremely rich, interesting and creative environment for the pupils to learn and play in’ both indoors and outdoors. It emphasises how ‘pupils are encouraged to be creative in their thinking and how they express themselves’ through our full and rich curriculum. Our children ‘are given a wide range of opportunities across the school to broaden their experiences and try out new things’.
The children’s ‘polite and courteous’ behaviour is highly praised. This is due to our ‘nurturing and secure environment where all pupils are known well and are kept safe’. The Be the Best you can Be ethos is recognised as having impacted strongly on attitudes to learning. We have created a love of learning which ensures that ‘pupils across the school are enthusiastic about books and read regularly for pleasure’. In particular we are delighted that our commitment to each child, from those with special educational needs to the more able, has been noted.
On the next stage of our journey we remain tirelessly dedicated to raising attainment. The report confirms leaders’ ‘accurate view of the strengths of the school’ and notes our ‘detailed action plan for further improvements’. The inspectors’ minor reasons for the school not being outstanding are already being resolved.
We believe that the report is a resounding endorsement of the culture we have created together and our future ambition for the school knows no bounds. Please download and share a copy of the full report.
Children’s Centre ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted Report – October 2013
Ofsted judged our Children’s Centre as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas following its most recent inspection. Their report explains how ‘quality services’ have a ‘profound impact on the lives of the families and their children’. They noted that the joint school and Children’s Centre staff’s support for children and families is a ‘shining example of the smooth integration of children into school’. As a result children’s transition into Nursery and Reception is ‘excellent’. It goes on to say that ‘staff, managers and governors know their community exceptionally well and have high ambitions for their families and the children’ and how they have created a ‘strong culture of trust and work extremely well together to motivate parents and provide services that are constantly improving’.
