Luckily for year 5, we had a visit from one of the parents who also is a professional photographer. He showed us a selection of different cameras spanning 50 years, from medium format to digital to Polaroid.
This week, we started reading The Day of Ahmed’s Secret and created a soundscape of a marketplace in Morocco (or Cairo technically). We then shared read the first few pages before making our own Islamic art by tessellating shapes and colouring them in according to our wishes.
To help our year 4s record their own greetings to send to our partner school in Spain, the Spanish Community Club got together and recorded some examples of pronunciation. Some teachers even got in on the act – see if you can spot them!
