Many parents attended our Reading Volunteers’ PTA coffee morning to find out how they can support children of all ages in a variety of ways.
Year 5 have been spending this week in literacy practising techniques to develop detail for their setting descriptions. In groups, the children worked together to create setting descriptions which contained personification, simile, adjectives, adverbs and plenty more delicious details!

This week, year 6 learnt and performed the fractured fairytale “Little Red” (written by Bethan Woollvin, the author who is coming to visit Heathbrook next Wednesday). We then spent a couple of sessions adapting the story and giving it a twist, before acting them out to each other – we hope you enjoy the shows!
