Year 3 has a great TIME making clocks today!

To help develop our understanding of how a clock works as well as being able to tell the time we made clocks today in maths. We made sure we labelled the minute and hour hand, o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to. We then decorated our clocks to make them unique to us.

Mastering Area

The children in Year 5 have been approaching the subject of area in many different ways including with unifix.  They made an array to represent a multiplication for example 3 x 4 and noticed that this also represented the area of the rectangular shape..

Maths!

We have been looking at a variation of pictorial representations of number bonds to 10 including the ten frame, part-whole model and the bar model. We are representing these using concrete objects as well as on whiteboards as mathematical  statements.
