The children in Year 5 have been approaching the subject of area in many different ways including with unifix. They made an array to represent a multiplication for example 3 x 4 and noticed that this also represented the area of the rectangular shape..
Today in maths we were exploring squared numbers. Year 6 put their co-ordinates knowledge to the test this morning and took part into a group challenge all about reflection, rotation and translation in all four quadrants.
Our team of Year 5s and 6s took part in the IBM Junior Developer Challenge at the IBM building on the Southbank last Saturday. They had to complete a range of activities throughout the day and were the overall winners!
