The final phase of the furniture restoration took place today. The Wild Things varnished the little wooden kitchen to protect it from the rain. We will be returning it to Heathbrook Hub after half term. I am sure the toddlers will enjoy it on the next coffee morning.
Today, it was time to clear the sunflowers from the beds and collect the seeds to plant again next year. While doing this, the Wild Things noticed nasturtiumseeds and collected those too for next year’s beds.
The Wild Things spent the afternoon finding what they could harvest for the playground sale. They also made a few unexpected discoveries – a very long worm and a very short newt. Both were carefully put back into their habitat.

It’s finally heating up outside and the plants are loving the sun. That includes the weeds! The Wild Things spent the afternoon digging and heaving out the stubborn weeds from the beds, pots and paths. Time to water and harvest some more….
The Wild Things were busy pulling up the remaining spinach to make room in the beds.
They worked together to remove every root and shoot.
