Planning a Scientific Investigation

The Selfish Giant

We had a fantastic trip to the Omnibus Theatre yesterday to see the Selfish Giant. We even got a chance to meet the actors and puppets after the show!

As we entered the wildlife garden, a very chunky squirrel ran up the tree at the back  we managed to follow it. I wonder what it’s been feasting on  there are a lot of tasty seeds on the ground and still some berries on the bushes

Autumn in the wildlife garden.

As the trees shed their leaves and bare their branches, our thoughts today came for the birds and providing some food shelter for the winter ahead.  We have 4 bird boxes so we had a look to consider which trees would be ideal for them.

This week, we have begun exploring Rocks in Science. We have learnt the 3 different types of rock: sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic. We have been looking closely at different rocks to see if we can predict how they were formed and group them accordingly.

Helping hands

Today in the garden, the Wild Things were planting in preparation for next year.  Turnips and spinach were carefully planted and given some extra nourishment in the form of their compost and extraordinary fertiliser.  The Wild Things are expecting some superb produce in 2019.
