Christmas Cookies!

Year 6 have enjoyed making Christmas cookies today.  We followed a recipe for shortbread biscuits and then used our creative skills to decorate them with festive patterns and colours.  They were delicious!

Community Pitch Hosts its first official match

On 24th November Heathbrook Girls football team played the first ever match on our new Community pitch, playing host to Clapham Manor in the Lambeth & Southwark Primary Schools Football League.

Autumn in the wildlife garden.

As the trees shed their leaves and bare their branches, our thoughts today came for the birds and providing some food shelter for the winter ahead.  We have 4 bird boxes so we had a look to consider which trees would be ideal for them.

Helping hands

Today in the garden, the Wild Things were planting in preparation for next year.  Turnips and spinach were carefully planted and given some extra nourishment in the form of their compost and extraordinary fertiliser.  The Wild Things are expecting some superb produce in 2019.

One tomato, two tomato, red tomato, green tomato….

Today the Wild  Things harvested the remaining tomatoes and began preparing the beds for a new set of seedlings. Some continued to create a barrel of fertiliser  –  all you need are some weeds and some water and let nature take it’s course. Luckily we have some knowledgable Wild Things to check on the progress
