We believe that physical education raises academic achievement and interpersonal skills as well as improving physical and emotional health. It provides opportunities for children to Be the Best you can Be!  by promoting teamwork, perseverance and creativity. Developing a love of sport, confidence and healthy lifestyles lie at the heart of our PE provision.

Staffing, resources and curriculum coverage confirm our commitment. Our dedicated Sports Teacher provides structured sports opportunities during morning and lunch playtimes as well as during lessons. Additional sports specialists provide a wide range of before and after school activities. For an inner London school, we have a truly incredible amount of outdoor space as well as three indoor halls! Parents and staff are working together to convert our sports pitch to astroturf which will benefit our pupils and be shared with the wider community.

As a result we enjoy considerable success at local and even national level and each child is given the opportunity to participate in different competitions over time. Children learn more about competition through our three different sports days for different ages – the oldest children use facilities at Battersea Park’s Millennium Arena. A number of ex-pupils have gone on to compete professionally and even for England.
