This term in Year 2 we have been learning all about China. We made some delicious dumping today and added some grated carrots as the filling.

Hot water (130ml)
Oil (to fry)
First, combine the flour and water slowly.
Next, knead the dough on a floured surface
Following the kneading, leave to prove in a warm place for 15 minutes (or longer if you have time)
Meanwhile, peel and grate the carrots.
Cut the dough it into small pieces and flatten them.
Take a small amount of carrots and place them in the middle of the circle of dough.
Pinch the dough together around the carrot to make sure none falls out.
Lastly, carefully fry or boil the dumplings.
