The children in Year 5 have been immersed in exploring the setting of our whole school text “Flotsam” by David Weisner. They explored objects found at the beach. They listened to the sounds of waves while visualising being at the seaside and took part in drama activities which helped to understand the characters. We have also started to investigate the history of cameras as the sea in the story has washed up an old fashioned camera. What will be revealed ?

Holding a pose for two minutes is actually a very long time to smile! We decided that must be why the old Victorian photographs had subjects with serious faces!
