Information for new families

This is where new families can keep up to date with our transition preparations for children starting Reception in September.

Welcome to Heathbrook!

Following the initial email Ben Roberts, our headteacher, sent to parents welcoming you personally, he wrote a letter to each new Reception child. If you have not received this letter, please contact someone in the office either by calling 020 7622 4101 or emailing

On 19th June, Ben Roberts wrote to you via email if your family is new to our Heathbrook community, ie. your child doesn’t attend our Nursery or have an older sibling further up the school. The letter explains our current arrangements for transition.

On 2nd July, following the return to school of the majority of Nursery pupils, Ben Roberts wrote to parents and carers of children who already attend our Nursery about providing them with a smooth transition into Reception during these challenging times.

On 10th July, we shared a further transitioning into Reception update which included a welcome to Reception video for families to use throughout the Summer break and beyond!

In the weekly Newsletter on Thursday 16th July, our PTA announced picnics in Heathbrook Park during the Summer holidays. Please check the Summer break 2020 webpage for more details and updates.

On Friday 4th September, in preparation for their first day, Ben Roberts wrote to parents and carers explaining what school will look like when children start.

Ofsted Report

We are also aware that lots of our new families may not know that we had an Ofsted inspection in the Spring term. We hope you enjoy reading their report.
