Nursery Admissions
Our ethos
We believe that every child is unique. Our Nursery Team focuses on providing a happy, stimulating and safe environment that enables learning through nurturing wellbeing. Our children have a strong sense of belonging to the Heathbrook community and the world around them, underpinned by strong partnerships with parents and carers.
What we offer
Children love our Nursery because we offer:
- a great start to a life of learning
- ‘high academic standards’ (Ofsted 2020)
- weekly music and sports lessons with our own music teacher and sports coach
- our artists-in-residence programme and celebrated outdoor curriculum
- an extended day from 7.30am until 6pm staffed by our own teaching staff
“It’s such a warm and creative space, our kids love it!” Parent of child already attending
“Wow – the children really are so happy!” Visiting prospective parent
Enjoy watching some short videos of the fun learning experiences our nursery children have had recently:
A music lesson
Learning in our stunning outdoor environment
Some creative literacy!
Sowing wildflower seeds
Cooking pancakes
Having a smashing time with science!
A visit from an owl
Inviting parents into our wildlife garden
As well as these, the nursery team regularly upload lots of photos onto our website via their class update webpage. This happens throughout the school following feedback from parents and carers requesting photos they can use at home to discuss all the learning going on!
School Tours
Come and see
- our full-time qualified Nursery teachers and experienced support staff
- our ‘extremely rich and creative Early Years environment’ (Ofsted)
- why ‘many parents and carers recognise how special Heathbrook is’ (Ofsted)
We strongly encourage parents and carers to take up one of the many opportunities to visit our inspiring nursery prior to applying for a place. Our headteacher will welcome you, provide an extensive tour and answer any questions you may have. Please complete our short Nursery Visit Booking Form to confirm a place. You can also contact a member of our Office Team on 020 7622 4101 or email admissions@heathbrook.org if you have any further questions.
Feedback from parents and carers who have visited in person has been incredibly positive:
“It really is a very special place with a wonderful vibe.”
“I was really struck by the school in terms of its opportunities, atmosphere, facilities and ambition.”
“The teachers and the children all seemed very calm, engaged and happy.”
“I could see it’s worth travelling further for. We are very impressed!”
Admissions Process
In recent years our large nursery has been oversubscribed. Please complete our Nursery Application Form as far in advance of your child starting our nursery to guarantee a place (a hard copy can also be obtained from our school office). Please read our Nursery Admissions Policy. The admissions process for nursery places is managed by the school.
Nursery Funding
In September 2017 the government introduced alternative childcare funding options. 30 hours of free childcare for 3 and 4 year olds in our Nursery for ‘working families’. Tax-free childcare (20% off) will also be available for all pupils who attend our Breakfast Club (from 7.30am) and Heath Kidz After School Club (until 6pm).
