Thursday art club are using the local area to get inspiration for our art work.  What better place to start than the rich and imaginative interior of 575, Wandsworth Rd.  The museum that used to be the house is the creation of Khadambi Asalache.  He spent 20 years carving, painting, designing and making the extraordinary interior of his home.  The club were amazed by the intricate carvings and fretwork that filled the house.  As well as his own work, Khadambi was an avid collector or beautiful glassware, pottery and Victorian inkwells.  Laura the curator showed us around and let us sketch in the different rooms.  We loved choosing things to draw and intend to go back again and again.  Thank you Mr Asalache for your house, it inspires everyone that visits.
