Year 6 are studying the Victorians and we have been looking at the work of William Morris.  He made beautiful wallpaper designs that were printed painstakingly with carved wooden blocks.  His blocks survive today as well as his paint colour mixtures.  Using a simpler technique we started to design our own wallpaper using hand carved potatoes.  Next week we will use other colours and printing stamps to build up our designs.

William Morris’s factory wasn’t that far away from our school!  You can find the site along the River Wandle near Morden Hall.
